Newt Allen (1901-88): • Birthplace: Austin, Texas • Status: Player/manager • Bio: Middle infielder Newton Henry Allen played primarily for the Kansas City Monarchs from 1923-44 and in 1947 and was a four-time East-West All-Star. He managed the Monarchs to five championships in five seasons. He compiled two separate 19-game hit streaks.
