• Bio: Middle infielder Newton Henry Allen played primarily for the Kansas City Monarchs from 1923-44 and in 1947 and was a four-time East-West All-Star. He managed the Monarchs to five championships in five seasons. He compiled two separate 19-game hit streaks. He was called "Colt" because of his small physical stature (5-foot-8, 170 pounds) and was a highly accomplished fielder.
