• Bio: Bell Pitched for the Kansas City Monarchs, Newark Eagles, Homestead Grays and Pittsburgh Crawfords, among others, during his 14-year career (1923-37). His winning percentage of .721 (124-48) was the best all-time among Negro Leagues pitchers. He won 10 or more games in seven consecutive seasons (1924-30), when a 10-win season was roughly equivalent to a 20-win season in the majors. He also managed the Newark Eagles in 1936 and 1948.
