Rap Dixon (1902-42)

Birthplace: Kingston, Ga.

Status: Player/manager

Bio: Herbert Allen "Rap" Dixon batted .300 or better in eight seasons and was a member of the Harrisburg Giants' great outfield of Hall of Famer Oscar Charleston and Hall of Fame candidate Fats Jenkins. In 1928, Dixon began the season with a 21-game hit streak. He had a 19-game hit streak later that same year.
