Sammy Hughes (1910-81) • Birthplace: Louisville, Ky. • Status: Player • Bio: Hughes was considered for a time to be the best second baseman in the Negro National League. He played for teams in Louisville, Washington, Nashville, Baltimore and Columbus, Ohio, and made his mark in Mexico, as well. He made six appearances in the East-West All-Star Game.
