Clarence "Fats" Jenkins (1898-1968)

Bio: First, "Fats" Jenkins wasn't fat; he was 5-foot-7, 180 pounds. He was, however, one of New York City's greatest athletes of the first half of the 20th century. Not only did he play alongside Hall of Famer Oscar Charleston; he also was the captain of the renowned Harlem Renaissance Five basketball team of the 1920s and '30s. In a 20-year Negro Leagues career, he had a batting average of .325 and an on-base percentage of .392.
