George "Mule" Suttles (1901-1968) - ELECTED

Birthplace: Brockton, La.

Status: Player/manager

Bio: Suttles earned his nickname because of a high leg kick at the plate, which prompted fans to shout "Kick, Mule!" when he batted. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound first baseman was a five-time East-West All-Star and is third all-time among Negro Leaguers in home runs and RBIs. He batted .300 or better in 13 of his 23 Negro League seasons.
