Sol White (1868-1955) - ELECTED

Status: Player/manager/historian

Bio: "King Solomon" White is best known as an author. His book, "Sol White's Official Baseball Guide" was the earliest history of African-American baseball and remains a valuable resource for modern researchers. But he also played for 25 years, including five years in the predominantly white minor leagues before the color barrier was put into place. Later in life, he was a columnist for the New York Amsterdam News.
